This place was amazing. First, there were only 4 of us in our group, so we were always the focus and got plenty of time from the trainers and with the elephants. They pick you up from your hotel, drive you out to the jungle, you take a short trek through the beautiful wilderness before reaching the elephant camp. You spend some time training and feeding the elephants.
Wear your bathing suit! - they give you matching outfits to put on though since you will get wet and dirty and the elephants like the familiarity. Bring your camera, but no worries if you don't get a lot of shots since they're snapping away the whole time and provide you with a disk full of photos when you're done.
You get to ride an elephant, bareback, all by yourself. It is terrifying, but such an amazing experience! Then you hop on with your friend and take an entertaining and adventurous stroll through the woods to a stream/waterfall. There you let loose and bathe with the elephants! You can scrub them, they spray you with their trunks - good old fashioned elephant bathtime fun.
Bonus: We were with a mom and her offspring - one of which was almost fully grown (and we chose to ride since she was a bit smaller!) and the other was just a baby! So great to have the baby trotting along with us and he was super cute basking in the stream!
They feed you lunch before heading back to your hotel.
This is way superior to any large-grouped, guided tour where you're perched on a seat - strapped to an elephant. This is the real thing and I HIGHLY recommend it!
